need help with virus protections...

for my computer. currently using mcafee with virus protection and firewall. its a free trial with new computer. cost is expensive. what im asking for is someone who knows about any possible better protections for my computer that also costs less. my email is protected but the internet itself is not after this free trial. need assistance please since my knowledge of computers is limited. ty.

i would recommend avast.com someone recommended it to me on here and I think it is great and its free check into it and see what you think.

I know you were asking about virus protection but just in case spyware or viruses have allready gotten through I recommend http://www.superantispyware.com/ So far it has found things spybot, adaware, norton wont touch. Probably the best spyware program I have ever used and its free to try.

I use AVG, it's free and doesn't hog resources. The best defense against viruses is you and your behavior. Keep your Windows box updated, don't go to suspect sites, don't download "free" music and don't open attachments in e-mail. If you are careful you may never need anti-virus protection.

i use Norton, firewall and all here for yrs and it work great and i have to back Norton up working AD-aware personal and Spy sweeper,they work great together.....ck
